You must be prepared to prospect and sell through home parties – this is not a business that will be successful through craft shows, catalog selling, or reorders.

 

What kind of candle products? 

We only sell highly scented candle products manufactured in our factory – most home party businesses import products and items from China and then ask you to sell overpriced products in the homes of your friends and neighbors.  Our products are high quality and moderately priced.  Most of our products are less expensive than comparable products in retail stores.  Also, purchasing directly from the factory eliminates any markup of middlemen or other channels.

 

Why candles – you can buy them anywhere? 

Scented candles are a $2.2 billion market and one of the top selling items in the gift market.  Scented candles are in 93% of all homes and the typical consumer spends $500 per year on scented candles.  35% of candles are purchased during the holiday season.

 

Candles are the perfect item to sell, everyone uses them and they sell throughout the entire year.  Candle pricing and burning characteristics are proportional.  If you buy a cheap candle the fragrance will typically run out soon after you light it and it has poor burning performance like smoking, tunneling, or wax hang up.

 

How much can I make? 

How much someone makes is dependent on the amount of time and effort they put into the program.  People can earn as little as $75 a party or as much as $100,000 per year.  As a stocking distributor you will earn 50% gross profit on sales.  Parties typically average $500 and last two hours. $100 - $200 per hour of work is easily attainable.

 

Typical earnings

• Hold 4 parties per month and earn $1000 per month profit. 

• Conduct 6 fundraisers per year and earn $500 - $2000 profit on each.

• Develop a three consultant business and you can earn $5,000 of profit per month or more.

What if I don’t want to invest in or maintain inventory? 

We have a non-inventory program that offers 40% gross profit and a small packaging charge.  We will pack your parties and deliver directly to your customer, sending all invoices to you.

 

Do I need a tax id number? 

To truly start your own business you will need a tax id to collect and pay sales tax to your state.  We can also charge the sales tax directly to you and pay it under our tax id if you don’t want the hassle of managing sales tax.

 

What about charge cards? 

You have the option of securing your own credit card processing or have us run the charge cards for you; you pay the processing fee (a tax deductible expense)

 

How much does it cost? 

We have a number of different programs and cost available.  Most programs will include a number of sales kits, merchandise credit, and protected geographic areas.  The basic program cost is $500 and includes three sales kits.
